Why embodying cancel culture will stunt your growth

This world is a funny place. Which makes sense given the fact that it is populated by people who live their entire lives believing that the voices in their heads are who they are. We’re starting on a delusional foot here. It’s problematic on the most fundamental level. That being said, we cannot be shocked that absolutely insane things happen on this planet.

We are part of a big problem.

To make matters even more complicated, the problem hides in plain sight.

The EGO.

It hides itself within our psyche and does everything it can to remain hidden. It’s sole mission is to remain hidden so that we identify with it. As long as we don’t recognize that it inhabits us, it can live on through us. It’s like a parasite that makes its home inside of our brains, and has us believing that it is who we are.

Disturbing.

We have a ton of different internal voices, all of them programs that were installed into our subconscious hard drive by other people in early life.
Some voices tell us that were shit. That we can never quite be good enough.
Other voices tell us that were hurt. Our parents hurt us and we can never trust again.
One voice tell us that we must get revenge. We must keep our hearts closed forever.
The other voice tries to talk us out of it. What’s a life if I can’t overcome my fears of intimacy?

All of these voices are speaking to us day in and day out. Back and forth, a full on discussion between the voices! Fragments of our “personality” argue as we try to THINK our way into some sort of solution to our problems. We take the voices for truth. Have we forgotten that the voice of fear and anxiety is a program installed when we were young and afraid? This voice of fear is not even relevant anymore, yet we make decisions from that exact place. Have we forgotten that the self-depricating voice is actually the voice of a parent that always made us feel like we weren’t quite good enough? A teacher? Classmate? THE VOICE IS A PROGRAM. We are living in the past every single moment as we get taken away on a rollercoaster ride from thought to thought to thought. We act in blind faith that the voices in our heads are WHO WE ARE and therefore must be followed. Except its a program, and we’re the fools, reenacting habitual responses over and over again. If your ego has done a good job at concealing itself and you haven’t yet gotten a glimpse of it, you’re living a habitual life of unconscious reaction. The ego has convinced you that you are in control but you’re not.
And you will know that you’re not in control if:
you suffer
you feel pain
you keep seeing the same situations arise over and over again
you know something just isn’t quite right but you can’t put your finger on what that is.

You’re being taken over, and it’s time to get into the drivers seat.
What is the drivers seat though? Many of us have quite literally never experienced a moment not being identified with thought. What a concept!

Now what does all of this have to do with cancel culture?

It’s all the rage these days. And I think it’s worth discussing because it is one of the sneaky ways that the ego hides in todays society. It’s important to shed some light on cancel culture because there’s a good chance that your ego has hid itself away from you by using cancel culture as a hiding spot. If you have ever looked down on someone for behaving in a way that you deemed is unaligned with yourself, you have successfully further identified yourself with thought and with ego, thereby losing connection to source and who you truly are.

We don’t do this consciously.
We don’t think to ourselves every morning:

“Ah. Today I’m going to further myself from my spirit, inflicting unnecessary suffering onto myself by solidifying the illusion of separation. Yes, that is a fantastic idea.”

That’s what’s tricky. It’s unconscious. And it is a program. We don’t consciously choose to suffer, yet by giving into the impulses of our programming, we create separation between us and the other. By creating us and them, we can judge them to feel better about us. Unfortunately by creating this dynamic, we have lost touch with the truth that them IS us. We fall into a trap, because we think that feeding into our impulses will make us feel better. What we don’t realize is that the basis of all human suffering is the illusion that what we think is real. The basis of suffering is the illusion that we are separate from one another. Living in illusion IS suffering. Every time you condemn another for not living according to what you deem appropriate, every time you judge, you identify with your thinking mind just a little bit more. You’re allowing the parasitic ego to dig its heels in a little deeper. Your ego is LOVING this. It’s winning, and it’s laughing as it puppets you around.

Another thing that I’m noticing is the pendulum swing. It’s the theory that everything that swings to one extreme must swing back to the other extreme. I’ve noticed this pattern throughout my own healing journey. In regards to cancel culture, you have people completely cancelling other people for making mistakes.
THEN you have people condemning the people who cancel the people who make mistakes. These people righteously proclaim that judging is horrible as they judge the very people they’re speaking to.

Ego hiding in plain sight.

It’s quite humorous to watch. It’s painful, funny, quirky and human and it makes me want to laugh, cry or scream depending on the day.

Our society is full of traps and we are falling into them, left right and centre.

WHAT IS THE CURE?

MEDITATE. Get in touch with your essence behind the voices. You are a beaming light of unconditional love. You are not the programs that run in your minds computer all day. We live in a society that glorifies thinking. THINK yourself to success.
STUDY all day long.
SMARTS are important.
The prehistoric computer that is our thinking mind is running our lives but it is the LEAST effective at doing so.

WE ARE ESSENCE. WE ARE ENERGY. YOU ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS. So connect to who the fuck you actually are, beyond words, and spend a ton of time with that person.

It’s incredible how difficult it is to focus on one task. From birth, we are looking at screens. We have everything we need at the click of a button. Instant gratification. 6 second videos. We lose focus if it isn’t compelling or giving us a dopamine rush.

This is a HUGE obstacle that we as a society must face in order to connect to the truth. Train yourself to sit still. For the first while, meditation might feel useless. You can’t focus. You can’t sit still. Your self-depricating voice might pipe in and tell you you’re terrible at it and you should give up. Tell it to STFU. Keep going, you’re practicing your ability to focus after years of instant gratification have completely destroyed that muscle. It takes time. It’s worth the time. Put in the time. One day, you will prop yourself up for your meditation, and you will feel like you’ve gotten somewhere. Once you connect to your truth, beyond thought, life changes.

YOUR UNCONDITIONAL ESSENCE WILL NEVER CANCEL ANOTHER HUMAN BEING FOR MAKING MISTAKES.
YOUR UNCONDITIONAL ESSENCE WILL NEVER VILIFY SOMEONE FOR GETTING A VACCINE, OR NOT GETTING ONE.

What’s even more unreal is that your essence will not even cancel a person that intentionally harms other people. Your essence doesn’t feel judgment. Your ego does. Your essence is only capable of love. And once you see the parasite that lives in your head, you will consciously decide every moment to draw attention from that parasite and put your awareness into the present.

Any time a voice pops up that wants to judge, smile at it. The voice isn’t going away, none of them are. Our ability to see them as they are, clouds passing through a sky of infinite awareness, allows us to move through them with grace whilst solidifying the connection to the truth.

We are love.

Love you.
